Battery Isolator Switch Location

By Jim Peall

Why do that?

When I resisted the fire wall for the v6 the hand brake had to go as it hit the right cylinder head. I put the hand brake between the Austin 1800 bucket seats on the floor; I wanted the dash to still look original so I thought about bolting the handle into the hole then the idear of a battery isolator switch in that position came to me. I mounted the switch with some panel steel (1.2 mm) then turned up the shaft which turns the switch on and pushed and pined the hand brake handle on the shaft. There is a pin that also needs to be fitted in the shaft as per the red key that comes with the switch.
