Telescopic Rear Shock Mounts

By Jim Peall

Photo0140.jpg

This is an overall shot of the telescope shock, I don’t know what car it is off as I brought it by sizes and travel to suite the job, and it is a gas shock.

The top mount is a 50mm steam pipe and the tags on the ends bolt to where the lever arm shocks bolted to and the lower is round bar that has been drilled and taped for the bolt and then welded to the spring plate.

This is the top right side and the cross tube is bolted on were the lever arm shocks mounted too. Just as well the timber floor is out of the Ute for this photo.

Lower shock mount on left hand side, the mount welded to the spring plate is solid round bar drill and taped for the bolt with a crush tube in the shock rubber. The round bar is mounted on an angle and the top of the bar has been milled off to be level with the bottom of the spring.

Hope this is a help.

Jim.
